There’s been a lot in the works at the Mine this fall! With the completion of our first group of fellows (not to mention a successful launch of the Tulsa Area United Way’s innovation grants), our second cohort is forging ahead with two brand spankin’ new projects!
But first- meet our fellows!
This year’s Fellows are an incredible and diverse bunch. With backgrounds in law, education, economics, health, engineering and international relations- we’re excited to see what they can do!
Fellows (left to right): Kathryn Fox, Rodrigo Rojas, Raghu Menon, Bradford Johnson, Shaheen Sheikh, Mark Newfeld, Stacy Kaut, Holden Mitchell, Noah Stout
Picking the right people is only half of our equation for social innovation, these bright minds will be working on two high-impact projects this year:
Team Global Gardens
This year’s Global Gardens team are working to maximize impact and create hands-on science educational opportunities for low-income children! Fellows will be tasked with creating and implementing expansion strategy for Global Gardens that couples their core values and quality programming with a financially sustainable business model.
Team Kitchen Incubator
This year’s Kitchen Incubator team is working with The Lobeck Taylor Family Foundation to assist in the launch of Tulsa’s first Kitchen Incubator program-providing affordable kitchen space and entrepreneurial mentorship for low-income and underserved populations. Fellows will conduct market research and use key insights to develop and launch a pilot program as the first phase of a potential food hub in Tulsa.
